After you arrive at our hotel in Merzouga, you will leave your car at safe free parking if you have it and pack the necessary bags for the evenings in the desert. Our 2-night camel trek in the Merzouga desert will start in the late afternoon around 2 hours before sunset and take you right into the heart of the Sahara. The Merzouga camel trek takes about an hour and a half so you will have the chance to watch one of the most beautiful sunsets Morocco has to offer.
Enjoy the majestic Merzouga camels that will be their camel companions throughout the Merzouga Sahara adventure. The late afternoon marks the beginning of an enchanting camel ride in Merzouga, meandering through the mesmerizing dunes, ultimately leading to the Sahara desert camp. Try sandboarding if this is an activity you are interested in, during the trek you will take a break in the middle of the Sahara to take photos and admire the landscapes until the sun goes down.

Day 2: Camel Trek in Sahara - Overnight with a nomadic family

After eating breakfast we’ll trek for a couple of hours towards our next destination, stopping off on the way for a Moroccan lunch (included) will be served along with mint tea in the shade of a tree in the desert and you’ll have plenty of time to chill out and relax in the dunes. The day is filled with exploration, allowing participants to traverse the dunes, try their hand at sandboarding, and immerse themselves in the rich cultural tapestry of the region.
Picnicking amidst the dunes and encountering nomadic Berber families add authentic touches to the experience. Evenings in the desert are marked by the warmth of traditional Berber hospitality.
